Tony Spinner really hitting it off at Dutch Blues Festival!

By Arjan 't Jong

During the Bluezy Gooth Blues rockfestival in youth centre the Gooth music lovers were definitely treated to a wide range of blues and rock music.

The opening act of the local band Brother Booze couldn't exactly be called perfect as to its sound. The vocals could only be listened to a couple of seconds retarded which of course was quite a pain. Still the audience really appreciated the show. Other performing bands were Half Past Midnight with steaming guitar work by guitar virtuoso Rob Orlemans and also a quick interference by American rocker Chicago Mike who, according to his very own words, had especially come to this festival to sing along with this band. In fact he was there to see the famous Julian Sas for real. However, the show was really stolen by Tony Spinner. This American guitarist who's standing in Steve Lukather's shadow while playing with Toto is actually promoting his new solo CD in Holland during Toto's Summer tour. His music was really rocking and it is crystal clear that Tony and his band will have an international career ahead of them. Wow, these guys were really giving it all!

Headlines that night were the Juke Joints and Julian Sas. Some night to remember for the more than 200 visitors of this festival and according to its organizer there might be a follow up next year!
