Biography Shane Mullins

Shane Mullins (drums)

Born February 7, 1981 in Holland, Michigan, Shane became interested in music at an early age. He got his first drums at age 3. By The age of 7, he was playing in the church band. Also, his parents would take him to places that had jam session nights, and Shane would sit in with the band, sometimes playing half the night. When he and his family moved to Arkansas at the age of 12, he got his first drumming job playing at a local dance. Through his school years, he played several dances, festivals, and private events, making each night a learning experience. He played a wide variety of music such as new and old country, old rock, blues, bluegrass, and gospel ranging from over 8 decades. At 17, he began playing local clubs on weekends. After graduation, he travelled playing clubs, fairs, festivals, and just about any other venue imaginable. Since then, he has played all over the South, opening for many national acts, as well as playing in Nashville, TN with some of the greatest players in the U.S. He is also a skilled sound engineer and guitarist. He has been playing with Tony Spinner since the winter of 2008. He enjoys the "open" feel of the three piece band. "Playing with Tony is awesome because his number one request is that you play what you feel." Shane believes that instead of being a flashy drummer, that laying a solid groove and foundation for the song is the essential ingredient; and with Tony, he is able to do just that.
